» Raoul PetiteWebCrew: We are very happy and really proud that Raoul Petite will play on this years Zappanale. Especially because we think it´s the first time that they will play in germany. What was it convincing you to play at the Zappanale? Raoul Petite: The festival is a cult festival for us because it represent all that Frank Zappa has let concerning musical and scenic influence all over the world. We have also appreciate the woman who came and see us in concert in France and we were very happy to see her very enthusiast because of our show. WebCrew: What does it mean to you playing at a Frank Zappa related Festival which is dedicated to new zappaesque and unusual music, too? Raoul Petite: It’s a way for us to perpetuate all Frank Zappa music and intention for the new people generation WebCrew: Did Zappa´s work have any influence on Raoul Petite´s music? Raoul Petite: Of course. At the level of the mockery and on the fact of making some music seriously but without taking itself seriously. We avoided copying Zappa because he’s matchless. So we adopted our own style while keeping in mind the influences. The band's name comes from outside of a scene from the movie "200 Motels". In this film, a musician down the tour bus and said "road fatigue” because he was very tired because of the travel. We thought about when he spoke French and said, "Raoul Petite". As we had a concert the next day and we had no name, we chose this one. WebCrew: May we expect one of these incredible and awesome shows as we can see it on the DVD, made in 2008? Raoul Petite: Of course it will. WebCrew: What will be the line-up / who will play with which instruments at the Zappanale? Raoul Petite: Drums, bass, piano, trumpet, trombone, guitar, 3 vocals WebCrew: The new CD YES FUTUR will appear in a while. Could you please tell us a little bit about it?
